Sekitar pukul 16:27 (UTC+9), tanggal 28 Juli 2026 (hari ini), terjadi gempa di daerah Kumamoto, region Kyushu, Jepang. Gempa dengan magnitudo 7.1, dengan intensitas skala 7, skala tertinggi. Terakhir kali terjadi gempa dengan skala yang sama (skala 7), adalah pada tahun 2024, di Noto Peninsula. Sampai saat saya menulis ini, telah terjadi beberapa aftershock (gempa susulan) dengan skala hingga 5-.
JMA: Be prepared for possible powerful quakes over the next two to three days
The JMA held a news conference at 5:30 p.m.
An official said: "As the place where the latest earthquake occurred is shallow, this shows that many earthquakes have occurred. Please pay full attention to possible future earthquakes and rain, and stay away from dangerous places. Also, for the next week or so, especially during the next two to three days, we would like people to watch out for potential earthquakes with a maximum seismic intensity of 7."
Menurut Japan Meteorological Agency, warga diharap selalu waspada akan aftershock (gempa susulan) dengan skala tinggi yang mungkin akan terjadi pada 2-3 hari yang akan datang.
Kumamoto's Uki City says it has received many calls
The headquarters of the fire department responsible for the area including Uki City in Kumamoto Prefecture said it received many calls after the powerful tremor, and it was checking the situation.

Kyushu Railway Company says services have been suspended on all of its trains, including the Kyushu Shinkansen, due to the quake.
